NEWLY ELECTED BOARD OF THE GHANA TENNIS FEDERATION ON THE MOVE
The
Ghana Tennis Federation on the 19th of October, 2019 went to the
polls to elect a President, Vice President and seven other members to
constitute a Board to oversee the administration of tennis in Ghana for the
next four years, from 2019 to 2023.
The new executives that received the
mandate of the delegate are as follows:
President: Isaac Aboagye Duah
Vice President: Kwame Djangba
Board Members: Emmanuel Adu-Sarkodie,
Jesse John Ato Des Bordes, Sampson Sayibu, Henry Boni-Quarshie, Dorcas Sowah,
Ismaila Nii Lante Lamptey and Cedric Dzelu.
Exactly
two days after coming into office, the newly elected Board went into action to
set the ball rolling at its first meeting at the Accra City Hotel on 21st
October 2019. The major highlight of the meeting is a unanimous decision to
come out with a four-year strategic plan, an endogenous blueprint to help
navigate the troubling waters of tennis in Ghana towards making tennis an
attractive sport and to increase its developmental impact in the country.
Prior
to come out with the 4 year Strategic Plan, the Board resolved to consult all
stakeholders of the game (Players home and abroad, Coaches, Umpires, Officials,
Regional Associations, Club Chairs, and Sponsors) in order to gather information
and ideas in a manner that shall make the four-year strategic plan represent a
holistic document that shall carry the aspirations of all tennis stakeholders
in Ghana.
Details
and further information regarding achieving this objective will be communicated
by the Secretary-General in the coming days, the KOKOTIKO portal with its ears
close to the Federation will be the first to break the news as it comes.
Indeed, the newly elected executives have proven beyond all reasonable doubts their proactive index, and how passionately they are committed to rescuing our dying game, and unlifting Ghana Tennis from its current status to greater heights. Tennis is on its way from the abyss of death to becoming a great game of attraction and interest in this noble country again.
